Zionis Israel halang solat terawih di al-Aqsa

Jumaat, 20/08/2010 – Zionis Israel hari ini telah melarang rakyat Palestin untuk menunaikan solat terawih di al-Aqsa. Zionis Israel telah menagadakan sekatan di pintu masuk al-Aqsa. Ini menyebabkan rakyat Palestin terpaksa berpatah balik. Keadaan semakin runcing bila warga tua terpaksa menderita kerana terpaksa jalan jauh.
Tindakan Zionis ini amat berlawanan dengan arahan pejabat wakaf Palestin yang mana semua pintu masuk ke al-Aqsa hendaklah di buka.

Rakyat Palestin yang terlibat dengan pembunuhan di Olimpik Munich 1972 meninggal.

Jumaat, 20/08/2010 – Amin al-Hindi,rakyat Palestin yang terlibat dalam pembunuhan beramai-ramai Olimpik Munich 1972, dikuburkan di Bandar Gaza pada hari Rabu, kata seorang koresponden AFP.
Hindi,disahkan meninggal dunia di Amman pada malam Rabu. Beliau yang menghembuskan nafas terakhirnya pada di usia 70 tahun, adalah rakyat Palestin terakhir yang masih hidup yang terlibat dalam serangan membunuh yang mengorbankan 11 atlet Israel.
Ribuan pelawat dilaporkan menghadiri upacara pemakaman beliau dimana jenazah dibawa dari rumah keluarganya di persekitaran Gaza Al-Rimal menuju ke masjid bandar Katiba.  Hindi adalah ahli senior Parti Fatah Pertubuhan Pembebasan Palestin dan juga pemimpin badan perisikan di akhir pemerintahan Yasser Arafat.
Beberapa pemimpin Fatah Jawatankuasa Pusat dan Dewan Revolusi Fatah turut menghadiri upacara pemakaman di Semenanjung Gaza, yang diatur oleh sekutu Fatah iaitu Hamas.

Childless couple finds baby at doorstep but gives it up

BUKIT MERTAJAM: It was a short-lived joy for a couple who found a baby girl abandoned outside their house in Bukit Minyak near here.

The couple, who has been childless after 10 years of marriage, thought that it was a gift from God.

They kept the baby for 36 hours in their house but later handed her over the police following advice from neighbours.

Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Azman Abd Lah said the baby believed to be a week-old was wrapped in a napkin and left on a table outside the house of a 38-year-old factory worker on Sunday.

The factory worker saw the baby after he returned home at 11pm after prayers at a nearby mosque.

“The couple wanted to adopt the baby as they have no children.

“But their neighbours caution them that it was an offence to keep the baby,” he told a press conference here yesterday.

ACP Azman said the couple surrendered the baby to the district police headquarters at Bandar Perda here at about 11am yesterday.

“The baby weighing 1.4kg was sent to the Bukit Mertajam Hospital. She is in good health,” he said.

He said the police were trying to trace the baby’s parents.

'Billionaire' Elie sentenced to 77 months' jail for cheating, abusing visa (Updated)

 KUALA LUMPUR: Lebanese "billionaire" Elie Youssef Najem created  a ruckus in court Friday after he was sentenced to a total of six years  and five months in jail for two counts of cheating and one count of  abusing his social visit pass five years ago.

The 50-year-old  self-professed "billionaire", who was visibly upset, started shouting  profanities in court as soon as it was adjourned after magistrate Mohd  Azali Ibrahim passed sentence on him.
"Six years? Six years! What did I do to deserve six years? I didn't kill anyone.
"I am going to kill you Malaysians! I swear I will. Six years! I am  going to f*** the judge! I am going to bomb all the embassies!" he  shouted from the dock, while his lawyer S. Selvam tried to calm him  down.
The court had earlier found him guilty as charged, ruling  that he had failed to raise reasonable doubt in the prosecution's case,  which began in 2005.
The prosecution, represented by deputy  public prosecutor Nor Aizam Aiza Zamran, called in a total of eight  witnesses, while Elie himself was the sole defence witness.
He  had been charged with cheating businessman Tan Sim Chai, 64, an office  stationery distributor, by causing him to believe that he (Elie) would  be able to pay his debt once he obtained monies amounting to GBP2.6mil  (RM13mil), and, therefore, inducing Tan to hand over RM35,000 worth of  cheques to him.
He was said to have done so at Megan Avenue II,  here, on Sept 12 and 13, 2005, which amounted to an offence under  Section 415 of the Penal Code.
He was also charged with abusing  his social visit pass by working as a director of a company, which was  an offence under the Immigration Regulations 1963.
He was sentenced to six years jail for cheating, and five months for abusing his social visit pass.
Selvam then applied for a stay of execution, saying his client wanted to appeal the decision.
The court granted him a stay on condition he paid up RM40,000 in bail  (he was previously on a RM20,000 bail during trial), with two Malaysian  sureties, and submitted his passport to the court until the appeal was  disposed of.
Elie, who was dressed in a red T-shirt and jeans  Friday, had his curly hair tied back and was moving about with the aid  of crutches.
He continued to hurl profanities as the police  tried to get him to go into the police lock-up, shouting that the court  wanted to get him killed in jail.
A check with his lawyer later in the afternoon found that Elie had failed to post bail.

 

India defers decision on blocking Blackberry services

NEW DELHI: The Indian government Thursday deferred a decision on  blocking some BlackBerry phone services and decided to hold further  consultations with all stakeholders soon, Press Trust of India reported.
"The  meeting remained inconclusive. No decision has been taken and we will  hold further talks soon," a Home Ministry official said.

The meet  was convened by the ministry and attended by officials of the  Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and state-run service provider  Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
The discussion was aimed at  finalising the government strategy on Blackberry phones which is facing  the threat of being blocked in the country if the telecom service  providers do not address the government's security concerns.

Meanwhile,  a top official of BlackBerry maker Research In Motion(RIM) - which has  nearly one million subscribers in the country and has a growing market -  paid a courtesy visit to Home Minister P. Chidambaram.
Last  week, BlackBerry made a fresh attempt to break the logjam over its  services in India by offering "metadata" and relevant information to  security agencies which will enable them to lawfully intercept  communication on such phones but it failed to enthuse them.
RIM  representatives explained that BlackBerry mobile device sends encrypted  emails, which is sent to BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) located with  the service provider.

BES decrypts messages and sends it to the  email server of the service provider where it remains stored in  decrypted form. It is subsequently pushed to the BlackBerry device in  encrypted form.
